International Volunteer Mission Trip

"Our mission is to provide support to individuals affected by cancer by increasing awareness, educating society about patients' experiences, and offering ongoing support through economic resources, recreational activities, and workshops. We aim to create a supportive community that positively impacts the lives of those battling cancer."

Our Program

The story of Alex Davila and Fundación Jóvenes contra el Cáncer is a testament to the power of community organizing and activism. After being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 15 and fighting the disease for over a year, Alex was driven to create a foundation to support youth and families affected by cancer in Ecuador. Therefore in 2021, we founded the FJCC International Volunteer Mission Trip to continue Alex's legacy and raise awareness of cancer while bringing the community together to help those in need.

As international volunteers, our objective is to create a human connection with the patients, learn about their stories and realities, and act immediately to provide support and help. We aim to organize recreational activities such as art therapy, musical therapy, emotional support workshops, and more, to strengthen the patients' skills, abilities, and emotions. We will also help in the foundation's events by organizing engagement activities for patients and their families and making home visits to deliver food, medicines, and clothing.

The program is focused on raising funds for the foundation's projects, resources, and events to help patients. Our goal is to continue to grow and make a significant impact, with the objective of raising over $5,000 dollars in the third edition of the program, providing 10 tablets for children with cancer for educational purposes, and creating a wish list for patients in extreme need.
